We made sure there was plenty of room for sponsorship of the festival via ad space on the site. We also created indexes of the artists, performers and sponsors so visitors could easily browse these listings.

I think the beautiful colors and organization is a winning combination.

First we imported all their content from Blogger. Then I used their existing logo and graphics and tweaked out the theme to their specifications. They knew exactly the color scheme and look they were after and it was a blast working with them. The clean, minimalistic look definitely sets their site apart from many using the Lifestyle theme.

The simple look of the Corporate theme makes the richly colorful panels of the comic stand out. It’s a clean, non-cluttered look that shines through.

We added several pages templates with their own corresponding sidebars to the theme. This allows Rob at soldiersthecomic.com to customize the sidebar content based on the page content.

WPbyDesign also customized the two sister corporate sites, underwatersamurai.com and uwspublishing.com. Each of these sites was built on the Corporate theme as well.

needed a complete redesign of their site. They have a lot of information to provide their visitors and members, and they also needed to create a membership section of the site.

The StudioPress Lifestyle theme was perfect for organizing their large amount of information. Brenda loved the colors used in TheGreenFamilia so we started with that. We extended the navigation to accomodate the amount of pages they needed. We added additional featured content sections to the home page and sprinkled in some ad blocks as well.

Tabbed widgets in the sidebar highlight lots of content in a compact area. The top tabbed area pulls a teaser of the latest featured post, as well as the most recent and the most read posts. Another tabbed area allows for links to favorite resources.

One important part of this redesign was the organizing the navigation. Rearranging and recategorizing tightened up the navigation on the site and made things easier to find. Navigation is a critically important part of every site and taking time to work through the categories was time well spent.

Julia’s first stop was Es-preso websites. There, Sharon and Kerry customized the StudioPress Lifestyle theme, applying the branding from Julia’s shop (which they had designed last year) so that the new StudioPress site would blend both her ‘blog’ and ‘home page’ (the WordPress site) and her ‘online shop seamlessly and harmoniously.

Julia was such a pleasure to work with, and the gals at Es-preso and I have found that we make a pretty smashing collaborative team.

We did numerous customizations to the theme including adding featured content sections to the homepage, editing numerous template files to convert language to German, and recoding the newsletter signup to use Constant Contact rather than Feedburner.
